Hardly Serious

Earlier this afternoon the Winnipeg Jets unveiled their new logo. Personally, I think it looks great. Much better then anything the Thrashers used.

Well Chicago came in at number 4 in GQ’s “Worst Dressed Cities in America” list, and I agree with their assessment 110%.  It’s funny going out here, you see basically a uniform look for guys - and for the most part girls as well, albeit with a little more color variety.

There is absolutely zero originality in regards to fashion here which is surprising for such a great city filled with so many young people. The majority of decent night spots here have a similar dress code to “upscale” Big 10 college bars, and the fact that Illinois is flooded with folks from Iowa, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin are just a few of the contributing factors.

I could go on for a while dissecting people’s sense of style here in Chicago, or the lack there of, but I won’t — don’t have the time or energy. But I laughed when coming across this list because there have been many nights where my friends and I have found ourselves laughing at the generic looking “Express Army” who seem to takeover the city every week, Thursday-Sunday.

Take a look at this ATM receipt — $100 million bucks in a savings account. Wow. Apparently David Tepper left this in the ATM after withdrawing some cash while at his place in the Hampton’s. 

My question is why does a top notch financier have $100 million in a low-yield Capitol One savings account that does next to nothing for his bottom line and only insures up to $100,000.00?
